Jenny in Los Angeles!: I am concerned that my boyfriend of 6 months may be gay. Is there anything I should watch out for in particular?

He Says: This kind of question always baffles me. In this day and age, it’s OK to be gay. Why would he be going out with you if he wanted to be with men?  In New York, all single women seem to be concerned that their boyfriend might be gay. This reflects female insecurity more than anything else. Give it a rest. That said, you can tell a lot by a man’s friends. Are they mostly gay? That’s a big indicator!   

She Says: I guess the first question is what makes you think he’s gay? If your man comes home and he looks a lot like a girl… that might be a sign. If he checks out men and hates all your girlfriends… that might be a sign. But many times, it’s just too hard to tell. What’s missing in your relationship? Does he not want to have sex?
